About The Role

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1st Shift
  • Pay Rate: Starting at $18.00/hour (higher compensation available based on experience and skill level)

Position Overview

A Precision Mig Welder will Fit and Weld sheet metal parts to the specifications of each job and ensure they meet the outlined requirements. Specifications are gathered from work orders, customer drawings, sample parts, and/or completed assemblies.

Primary Duties

Welding & Fabrication

  • Perform MIG welding on sheet metal assemblies in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions
  • Fit, align, and secure components using clamps, fixtures, jigs, and hand tools before welding
  • Fabricate and weld parts using steel, aluminum, and other production materials
  • Complete fabrication-related activities including tack welding, assembly, grinding, and heat-forming operations
  • Select appropriate welding techniques, machine settings, and consumables based on material specifications and job requirements

Blueprint Interpretation & Quality Control

  • Review and interpret work orders, fabrication drawings, blueprints, welding symbols, and technical specifications
  • Verify dimensions and weld quality using measuring devices, gauges, calipers, templates, and other inspection tools
  • Ensure completed products meet customer and internal quality standards

Production Support

  • Maintain welding equipment and perform routine adjustments or minor troubleshooting when necessary
  • Work efficiently to meet production schedules while maintaining workmanship standards
  • Support a safe and organized work environment by following established safety procedures and housekeeping practices

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of MIG welding experience in a fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial environment
  • Experience welding light-gauge sheet metal ranging from approximately .060" to 1/4" thickness
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols
  • Strong focus on accuracy, quality, and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a production team

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 100 pounds when required
  • Capable of standing, walking, bending, twisting, and performing repetitive motions throughout the workday
  • Comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment with varying temperatures
  • Ability to safely perform physical tasks associated with welding and metal fabrication operations
