About the Position
We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our TEAM - They must be punctual, with great attendance, have a strong work ethic, and be willing to learn!
As a Podiatric Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing clinical support to ensure the efficient operation of Pueblo Ankle and Foot Care. You will support our four podiatrists and patients through various patient care management, organization, and communication tasks. The target is to complete all activities accurately and with high quality promptly.
You must be willing to work at both of our locations in Pueblo, CO, and Pueblo West, CO.
Dependable transportation is a must.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred.
- Some medical experience or education is preferred.
- Customer service experience preferred.
Responsibilities (including and not limited to)
- Greet and room patients.
- Interview patients and document the history of present illness.
- Obtain patient vital signs.
- Update medical records.
- Arrange laboratory services.
- Assist podiatrists during in-office surgical procedures.
- Operate digital podiatric X-ray machine.
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments.
- Maintain exam room and stock room inventory.
- Cross-train as a front desk specialist to check patients in and out of appointments.
- Answer phone calls.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Fill in as needed for other positions or assigned duties.
Skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service-oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for up to 10 hours
- Must be able to lift up to 25-50 pounds
- Operate a computer and other office machinery, such as calculator, printer, copier, scanner, or fax
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- 8-hour shift with some extended business hours
