About The Role

A leading private hospital in the UAE is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant in Acute Medicine (Western Qualified) to join its multidisciplinary medical team. The successful candidate will provide expert assessment, diagnosis, stabilization, and management of adult patients presenting with acute medical conditions, ensuring timely, evidence-based care and seamless coordination with specialty services.

Requirements

Assess, diagnose, and manage adult patients presenting with acute and complex medical conditions requiring urgent hospital care.

Lead the assessment and treatment of patients admitted through the Emergency Department and Acute Medical Unit (AMU).

Develop individualized management plans and coordinate timely investigations and interventions.

Stabilize critically ill patients and facilitate appropriate referral or transfer to intensive care or specialty services when required.

Collaborate with emergency physicians, intensivists, cardiologists, neurologists, respiratory physicians, nephrologists, surgeons, and other specialists to provide multidisciplinary patient care.

Interpret laboratory investigations, diagnostic imaging, ECGs, and other clinical assessments to support rapid decision-making.

Participate in daily ward rounds, patient reviews, discharge planning, and continuity of care.

Ensure accurate clinical documentation and maintain electronic medical records in compliance with UAE healthcare regulations.

Promote patient safety, infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, and evidence-based clinical practice.

Participate in clinical governance activities, morbidity and mortality meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and Continuing Medical Education (CME).

Supervise and mentor junior physicians, residents, and medical staff where applicable.

Contribute to departmental development, clinical protocols, and service improvement initiatives.
