About The Role

About this opportunity

Reporting to the Regional HSE Manager, this is a hands-on role where you'll be highly visible on both sites, providing practical support, coaching and expert guidance across health, safety and environmental performance. You'll work closely with operational leaders to identify risks, implement controls, investigate incidents and embed best-practice HSE systems across both manufacturing locations.

Your key responsibilities will be to

  • Partner with Site Leadership teams to implement and maintain HSE policies, standards and procedures.
  • Conduct site audits, inspections, risk assessments and compliance reviews.
  • Coach leaders and frontline employees to improve HSE awareness, capability and accountability.
  • Support and lead incident investigations, corrective actions and root cause analysis.
  • Deliver HSE training, toolbox talks and improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyse HSE performance data, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide expert advice on health, safety, environmental and sustainability matters.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations, Maintenance, Quality and People & Culture teams to embed safe work practices.
  • Support continuous improvement activities that strengthen safety culture and operational performance.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have

  • Previous experience in a Health, Safety & Environment role within manufacturing, industrial, logistics, recycling or a similar operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and contemporary safety management systems.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and coach at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities across multiple sites.
  • A current driver's licence and willingness to travel between Wacol and Sumner Park as required.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, sustainability, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety or Diploma of Work Health and Safety are advantageous.
  • Training and certifications in specific Australian regulations and standards relevant to manufacturing operations (e.g., WHS Act, AS/NZS ISO 45001:2018) are preferred.
