Physician Assistant in Urology

About The Role
We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Urology team. In this role, you will work closely with the Urologist and care team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. You’ll play a vital role in diagnosing, treating, and supporting patients with a variety of urologic conditions while contributing to a collaborative and supportive clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations
- Assist in diagnosing and treating urologic conditions such as kidney stones, urinary tract infections, incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and prostate disorders
- Perform or assist with urologic procedures, including cystoscopies, catheter placements/replacements, bladder scans, and urodynamic studies
- Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including patient education and follow-up
- Document patient care through progress notes, orders, and prescriptions in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to coordinate care plans
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and ongoing care
- Respond to patient inquiries and manage follow-up communications, including secure messaging platforms
- Participate in departmental and hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and all applicable state, federal, and CMS regulations
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with privacy standards
- Demonstrate commitment to the organization’s mission, vision, and service excellence standards
- Stay informed through meetings, communications, and policy updates
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures

Requirements
Qualifications
- Current State of Maine Physician Assistant license
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Active and valid DEA license
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Commitment to teamwork and delivering compassionate patient care
- Willing to train strong candidates with a minimum of 3 years’ practical experience
Compensation
- Base Salary $175,000 annually
- Sign on Bonus eligible $25,000
- Medical Loan reimbursement
- Relocation reimbursement
