About the Opportunity
LINK is actively seeking an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) to join our dynamic team. The AFSO supports the administration and execution in partnership with the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in the administration of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and related security requirements. You will serve as a key member of LINK’s Security Operations function. This role is responsible for implementing and continuously improving the operational processes that enable employees to securely access customer facilities, systems, and resources while ensuring compliance with government and company security requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Security Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
- 5+ years of experience as an Assistant/Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO), Security Generalist, or similar position.
- Deep working knowledge of DISS, NBIS, and SWFT.
- Proficiency in general visit request procedures and DISS VAR submissions.
- Familiarity with DoD, NISPOM, and applicable physical/personnel security regulations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret U.S. Government clearance.
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to interact daily with corporate leadership, senior military officers, and government stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply government security regulations and company policies to routine and moderately complex situations.
- Experience administering personnel security processes and maintaining classified information in accordance with government requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in SWAT, SPOT, and other similar agency tools.
- Knowledge of RAPIDS, DEERS, and related systems/processes.
- Experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) credentials and procedures.
- Familiarity with SCI access requests.
- Prior experience with adverse information reporting and investigations.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the central coordinator for employee security onboarding, access management, and security-related operational processes across multiple government customers and programs.
- Develop, document, maintain, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), workflows, checklists, and knowledge base articles for security operations activities.
- Coordinate and track the end-to-end lifecycle of Common Access Card (CAC) issuance, renewal, replacement, and related administrative processes.
- Partner with Program Managers, hiring managers, Human Resources, Information Technology, and customer security personnel to ensure employees receive required physical and logical access in a timely manner.
- Monitor and manage security operations workflows to identify bottlenecks, reduce onboarding timelines, and improve the employee experience while maintaining compliance.
- Maintain accurate records, status reports, and metrics related to security onboarding, access requests, CAC administration, and other operational activities.
- Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, and scale security operations processes through improved documentation, technology, and cross-functional collaboration.
Access Control
- Facilitate facility access requests by coordinating with government security offices, customer points of contact, and internal program leadership.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding access management and related operational processes across multiple government customers and programs.
- Process visit requests (VARs) in DoD system of record or other agency database as required in order to support both credentialing and ongoing mission demands.
- Coordinate and track the end-to-end lifecycle of Common Access Card (CAC) issuance, renewal, replacement, and related administrative processes.
- Coordinate provisioning and tracking of employee access to government information systems, networks, applications, and collaboration environments.
- Coordinate provisioning and tracking of employee government furnished equipment including hardware and software.
- Maintain accurate records, status reports, and metrics related to access requests, CAC administration, and other operational activities.
- Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all security and security related functions including security clearance application and management; facility access requests; CAC applications; CAC provisioning; government system access and provisioning etc and work with PMs and individuals to continuously improve and notate processes, points of contact and client by client specifications and deviations from baseline.
Personnel Security
- Maintain security clearance rosters, employee records, and meticulous documentation of personnel clearance actions.
- Lead background investigation and continuous vetting enrollment processing (e.g., e-QIP/SF-86), to include fingerprint submissions.
- As part of onboarding/offboarding activities, provide initial security training, briefings, and debriefings for incoming and outgoing personnel; assist with revisions to the same.
- Process foreign travel requests in DISS and provide foreign travel briefings/debriefings. For official travel, coordinate with customer agencies as required.
Administrative
- Perform recurring audits and reconciliations of access records to ensure data accuracy and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to automate, standardize, and scale security operations processes through improved documentation, technology, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Support special security operations initiatives, process improvement efforts, and organizational scaling activities as assigned.
- Assist with routine self-inspections and updates to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- In the absence of the FSO, act as primary point of contact for security matters affecting the facility and/or its personnel.
Work Schedule
- Full time, 40 hours per week
- Some travel required to attend relevant events and conferences, and participate in LINK team events
Salary: We're committed to offering competitive compensation. While the salary range for this position is $70,000-$85,000 , your final offer may be adjusted based on factors like experience and location.
