About The Role
Environment
The work is executed in a school organization for foundation-based education. The foundation-based education offers development-oriented and selection-free education in an uninterrupted course of study to students from 4 -15 years of age, divided into 2 cycles:
- Cycle I: 4 to 8 years of age
- Cycle II: 8 to 12 years of age
Scope of work
The Physical Education teachers are responsible for the school organization, the development and execution of the primary education process, and the realization of the educational objectives in accordance with the curriculum.
- Physical Education Teacher is accountable to the school manager to the extent it concerns the quality of teaching, the execution of the education, supervision of students in accordance with the learning objectives, as regards the quality of the contributions to the educational preparation and -development, the participation in the promotion of expertise and development of competence and the content of proposals concerning the other (coordinating) tasks;
- Physical Education Teacher performs work that fits within the education Legislation – and regulation for Foundation-based education, core objectives, learning objectives and policy lines of the school;
- Physical Education Teacher takes decisions on/with: teaching, supervision of students, use of didactical art forms and learning activities, the contributions to the school activities, and the execution of the other (coordinating) tasks.

- General theoretical and specialist knowledge in the specific field of study;
- Professional, teaching methodology and pedagogic knowledge and skills;
- Knowledge of the subject matter;
- Knowledge of and insight into social developments;
- Knowledge of and insight into the organization of the work and adjustment of this on the progress of the work in the school;
- ICT knowledge;
- Insight into the organization and operating procedure of one’s own school organization;
- Insight into and knowledge of the organization and the possibilities of relief (entities);
- Ability to understand and social skills;
- Communicative skills;
- Skill in working as a team;
- Skill, creativity and initiative in assessing, solving and evaluating of various problems;
- Ability to express oneself in writing and verbally in the Dutch and English language;
- Skill in supervising, stimulating and motivating of students;
- Skill in the coordination of activities
