Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join the Workforce engineering team, an AI-enabled application platform focused on secure, user-centered workflows, enterprise integrations, and cloud-native delivery. This is a hands-on role: the ideal candidate will spend 50%+ of their time actively designing, coding, reviewing, and shipping software while also leading technical execution for a small team. Responsibilities include building full stack features across modern web front ends and backend APIs, defining application architecture and API contracts, contributing to AI-enabled capabilities (tool calling, prompt/control flow, context management, LLM integration), supporting secure enterprise integrations, and mentoring engineers through code review and pairing. This is not a pure architecture or management role — the person must remain hands-on.

Education and Background

Candidate should have a strong professional background in software engineering with demonstrated ability to design and implement production-grade application architecture across front-end, backend, data, and integration layers. Practical, applied experience is prioritized over formal credentials.

Years of Experience

7+ years

Required Skills

  • Strong hands-on coding in a typed OOP language (Java, C#, TypeScript, Go, Kotlin, or similar)
  • Professional experience building both modern front-end apps and backend APIs/services
  • Proven ability to design production-grade architecture across front-end, backend, data, and integration layers
  • Skilled at breaking down complex requirements into implementation plans and technical docs
  • Experience leading technical work for a small team or owning a major feature area

Solid grasp of API design, auth patterns, data modeling, error handling, and testing

  • Able to ramp up in a large/complex codebase with minimal direction
  • Practical security knowledge: access control, data protection, dependency hygiene, production readiness
  • Strong communication skills for explaining tradeoffs to engineers and stakeholders
  • Familiarity with AI application patterns: tool calling, prompt/control flow, context management, safe handling of model I/O

Preferred Skills

  • TypeScript, Node.js, React
  • SaaS, enterprise, government, or secure internal platform experience
  • Microservices, containerized/cloud-native architecture, CI/CD
  • Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, or OneDrive integration
  • OIDC/OAuth2, Keycloak, or Entra ID
  • Experience with sensitive data, enterprise permissions, auditability, compliance
  • DevSecOps, automated testing, observability
  • AI-enabled document workflows, search/summarization, or agentic patterns
  • LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, LlamaIndex, or OpenAI/Azure OpenAI APIs

Working Conditons

Standard office/remote software engineering role. Primarily sedentary computer-based work; no unusual physical demands or environmental hazards. Requires sustained focus for coding, code review, and collaborative technical sessions (in person or virtual).
