This role is ideal for someone with 1–3 years of HR experience who is ready to take ownership of payroll administration, HR operations, leave management, and office operations while growing their career in People Operations.

What You'll Do

As the People Operations Coordinator, you'll partner closely with the Director of People Operations to ensure our HR and office operations run smoothly while delivering an exceptional experience for employees across the organization.

Payroll Administration

Payroll is a key responsibility of this role. You'll be responsible for preparing payroll each pay period by

  • Reviewing and auditing employee timecards for accuracy
  • Processing payroll-related employee changes, including new hires, terminations, compensation updates, PTO adjustments, and benefit deductions
  • Administering payroll within the HRIS and preparing payroll for final executive review
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records and employee data
  • Partnering with managers and Finance to resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Ensuring payroll deadlines are consistently met

People Operations

You'll support employees throughout the entire employee lifecycle by

  • Coordinating onboarding and new hire experiences
  • Maintaining employee records and HRIS data integrity
  • Administering employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, and state leave programs, with guidance on complex matters
  • Supporting benefits administration and employee changes
  • Assisting with recruiting coordination and interview scheduling
  • Responding to employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, policies, and People Operations processes
  • Preparing reports, maintaining documentation, and supporting compliance initiatives
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency

Office Operations

You'll also help create an organized and welcoming workplace by

  • Supporting the day-to-day operations of our office
  • Serving as the primary contact for office-related questions and operational needs
  • Managing office supplies, inventory, kitchen, and common areas
  • Coordinating with building management, IT vendors, maintenance providers, and other service partners
  • Assisting with vendor relationships and office services
  • Supporting company meetings, employee events, celebrations, and recognition programs
  • Helping coordinate internal communications and workplace initiatives

What We're Looking For

  • 1–3 years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, Payroll, or Office Administration
  • Experience preparing or administering a Multi-state payroll
  • Experience using an HRIS and payroll system
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting recurring deadlines
  • Leave administration (FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation)
  • Supporting a fast-paced, growing organization
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel

This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and applicable state law, and is therefore eligible for overtime compensation. The compensation range provided represents Liberty1 Financial's good-faith estimate for this role at the time of posting. Actual offers will be determined based on the selected candidate's relevant experience, skill set, and demonstrated competencies as they align with the responsibilities of the position.
