Job Details
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead hardware/software integration activities throughout the system lifecycle, ensuring interoperability, technical compliance, and operational readiness.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute system-level integration, verification, validation, and acceptance testing, ensuring traceability to customer requirements and project objectives.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for government customers during integration, testing, troubleshooting, and operational support activities.
- Provide technical leadership in resolving complex system integration issues, conducting root cause analyses, evaluating alternatives, and implementing corrective actions.
- Coordinate technical efforts across software, hardware, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and systems engineering teams to achieve successful integration and deployment objectives.
- Evaluate system performance and recommend architectural or configuration improvements to improve reliability, maintainability, and operational effectiveness.
- Develop and review system engineering artifacts including integration plans, test procedures, verification reports, interface documentation, and operational procedures.
- Communicate technical risks, system status, and recommended solutions to program leadership, customers, and other stakeholders.
- Work independently with minimal oversight, exercising sound engineering judgment on complex technical matters affecting system performance and customer mission success.
- Support customer operations on-site in the Springfield customer facility.
Background and Experience
- Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering principles including requirements decomposition, system architecture, integration, verification, validation, and operational transition.
- Extensive experience integrating hardware and software components within complex distributed environments.
- Strong proficiency administering Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Rocky Linux) and Microsoft Windows environments.
- Experience deploying, integrating, and supporting cloud-based infrastructure using Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Demonstrated ability to lead system integration efforts, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and drive issues to resolution in mission-critical environments.
- Experience monitoring system health, performing performance analysis, and implementing improvements that enhance system availability, resiliency, and security.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to government customers, executive stakeholders, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction, make independent engineering decisions, and lead technical discussions across multiple organizations.
- Experience supporting Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, or other federal government customers within a classified environment.
Required Qualifications
- DoD TS/SCI clearance with CI poly eligibility.
- At least one DoD 8570 certification (e.g., Security+, CEH, CISSP, GSEC, Cloud+)
- 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in systems engineering, system integration, testing, and operational support of complex enterprise systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline—or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Cubic Pay Range
$145,000.00 - $178,000.00 + benefits.
The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
