Credit Analyst

About The Role
The Credit Analyst supports the Bank's lending activities through credit analysis, underwriting support, portfolio monitoring, facility documentation, annual reviews and transaction execution. The role works closely with Relationship Managers and the Head of Credit to ensure lending opportunities are assessed, documented and managed in accordance with the Bank's credit policy, risk appetite and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct credit analysis and financial assessment for new lending opportunities, annual reviews, renewals, amendments and restructures.
- Prepare and support credit proposals, approval requests and post-approval amendments for management and approval authorities.
- Review borrower financial information, credit checks, valuations, security documents and other supporting information to identify and assess credit risk.
- Prepare, coordinate and track Facility Letters, Conditions Precedent, security documentation and loan closing requirements.
- Support loan disbursements, construction drawdowns and post-funding administration in accordance with approved terms and Bank policy.
- Monitor covenant compliance, annual review requirements, financial reporting obligations and portfolio exceptions.
- Assist with portfolio reporting, management information, regulatory reporting and credit risk monitoring.
- Maintain accurate credit files, facility records and lending documentation to ensure compliance with Bank policies and governance standards.
- Liaise with Relationship Managers, Lending Operations, borrowers, legal counsel and other stakeholders to facilitate efficient transaction execution and client service.
- Contribute to process improvements, procedural enhancements and the ongoing development of the Bank's lending function
Experience & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field, or interest in pursuing further studies/professional qualifications would be an asset.
- Experience in customer‑facing roles within banking, financial services, or a service‑led retail environment would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms, digital banking tools, or core banking systems is an asset.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and adapting to new technology and systems is required.
